The Art Department of the Ministry of Information and Culture is responsible for planning and budgeting for all art galleries. At the present time there is no budget for galleries in the provinces and the National Art Gallery in Kabul is undergoing repairs sponsored by the Greek Government. The Artists' Union of Afghanistan has been asked to assist in the re-establishment of art galleries in other cities.
