 Before the wars this university library had over one million books, research papers and manuscripts. Rocket attacks and looting decimated the collection. Donations from abroad and from teachers and students who hid books in their home have rebuilt the collection although every faculty needs books specific to their course. Copies of research papers and books in Dari, Pashtu and Farsi are needed from libraries abroad.
