The Publications Department makes plans for future needs in the printed media. In future the Publications Department wants to print a weekly cultural magazine with 20% English content. The magazine Arman is currently printed four times a year but the Department also hopes to print it monthly for tourists with 75% in English. Previously its responsibility was to report the government’s policies. There is now a move to print materials in response to the people’s demands. Other departmental plans also include hooking up to the Internet so they can keep the world informed about Afghanistan.
