The Aukrust Centre was opened in May 1996 by King Harald of Norway. It takes visitors on an interesting journey through the world of Kjell Akukrust, the famous Norwegian illustrator and humorist writer. It contains drawings, cartoons and paintings of all his imaginary characters such as Flåklypa, the main character in Flåklypa Grand Prix (1975) (released under the English title 'Pinchcliffe Grand Prix'), a film known to most Norwegians through Ivo Caprino’s unforgettable dolls. Kjell Aukrust wrote the screenplay and this is probably his most famous work. In 2001 a computer game based on the film was released. |
