Founded in 1992, Berlinn Ltd is a Scottish publisher which publishes books under a number of imprints, including Birlinn, John Donald, Polygon and Tuckwell. Based in Edinburgh, Birlinn is the largest publisher of Scottish interest material and has recently grown substantially south of the Border and overseas with the success of the multi-million-selling Alexander McCall Smith, and his Botswana-set No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, which has been translated into nearly 30 languages.
