 Launched in 2000 and held annually at Suntec Singapore, ARTSingapore is a contemporary Asian art fair which features cutting-edge contemporary Asian art from all over Asia. It is organised by ARTREACH Pte Ltd and supported by the Art Galleries Association (Singapore), a non-profit organisation which aims to promote a professional art gallery trade with ethical practice and create awareness of the role and responsibilities of reputable art dealers. In 2005 it generated over $3 million in sales, the highest amount of sales the annual fair has ever generated since its inception in 2000, attracted a record 15,000 art enthusiasts from the region and abroad and featured 50 leading art galleries from 10 countries showcasing works by over 400 accomplished and cutting-edge Asian artists. Many of the artworks exhibited at ARTSingapore later appear in auctions. |
