 The ASEAN Literature Prize is awarded annually in the categories of fiction novels, non-fiction novels, short stories and poetry to writers from the 10 ASEAN nations of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Việt Nam. Poet Bằng Việt was awarded an ASEAN Literature Prize in 2003 for his collection 'Flinging Poems Into the Wind'.
