 Hồ Chí Minh City University of Technical Education originated in 1962 as the Higher Commission of Technical Education, becoming the Nguyễn Trường Tộ Centre for Technical Education, Thủ Đức in 1972 and the Thủ Đức University of Education in 1974. It was renamed in 1976 as the Thủ Đức University of Technical Education in 1984 it amalgamated with Thủ Đức Industrial Secondary School. It became the Hồ Chí Minh City University of Technical Education in 1991. From 1995 to 2000 the institution was part of the Việt Nam National University, Hồ Chí Minh City, but since 2000 it has been directly responsible to the Ministry of Education and Training. |
