The Việt Nam Cultural Heritage Association was established in June 2004 at a congress involving the participation of some 450 delegates from the heritage sector around the country. It is envisaged that this national association will contribute to the protection of the cultural heritage of all ethnic groups, particularly in the light of recent degeneration of relics, theft of antiques and breaches in the law relating to the cultural heritage.
