Kim Lien Pagoda (VNAT)
Constructed by King Lý Thần Tông (1128-1138) on the banks of the West Lake, Kim Liên Pagoda originally formed part of the palace of the king’s daughter Princess Từ Hoa. It was rebuilt in 1631, enlarged in 1638, and renovated again in 1771, at which juncture the ruling Trịnh lord changed its name to Kim Liên. The pagoda comprises three pavilions, each of which has two roof layers, giving the appearance of being curved and supple. Apart from its attractive disposition, the pagoda has a noteworthy gate.
