The Office of the Government (OOG) is a ministerial-level agency which functions to assist the government and the Prime Minister. Its functions are: to organise the general activities of the government and the Prime Minister; to advise the Prime Minister on the direction and administration of general activities of the state administrative apparatus; to assist the Prime Minister in organising the regulation and co-ordination of activities of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies attached to the government, People’s Councils and People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities for the implementation of the government’s and Prime Minister’s working programmes and plans; to develop, manage and strictly observe the government’s and Prime Minister’s Working Regulations and working programmes and plans; and to ensure the material and technical conditions for the government’s and Prime Minister’s activities. It functions as a co-ordinating body between Ministries, National Committees and other government offices on one hand and the National Assembly and the Office of the Prime Minister on the other, and is responsible for submitting Ministry proposals to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
