Located some 4 kilometres from Hà Nội, around 2.5 kilometres north along the Gia Thương Road from the Long Biên Bridge, the studio of artist Đào Anh Khánh comprises a Mường ethnic minority stilted house (nhà sàn) relocated from Hòa Bình Province, surrounded by landscaped gardens decorated with various sculptures and installations by Đào Anh Khánh. Since 1999 the studio has become known as a centre for installation and performance art; the inaugural performance art event created here in November 2000 featured artist Anh Khánh, performers drawn from nine different nationalities, 40 painted cows and various installation works made from bamboo, metal, porcelain and cloth. Studio Đào Anh Khánh welcomes collaborations with artists and arts organisations overseas.
