Goethe-Institut HN (Tim Doling)The Goethe-Institut, Hà Nội was founded in 1997 as the latest branch in Asia. All year round, it offers German language courses for adults and organises workshops and seminars for German language teachers. The facilities available at the Goethe-Institut, Hà Nội include an information centre which offers a wide range of information on current aspects of the cultural, societal and political life in Germany. It also provides books and other media for anybody who shows an interest in Germany, or who wants to learn or teach German. An important goal within the work of the Goethe-Institut, Hà Nội is the promotion of the cultural exchange between Việt Nam, Germany and Europe. In this context the Goethe-Institut organises and supports a wide range of cultural events (including the visual arts, music, dance, theatre and film) aimed at mediating the German culture and intensifying the cultural dialogue between Germany and Việt Nam. It has its own multi-purpose space for performances and exhibitions which opened in October 2003 with a major exhibition of painting, photography, installation, video art and performance entitled Green Red & Yellow, featuring work by leading contemporary artists Nguyễn Quỳnh Chi, Nguyễn Văn Cường, Phạm Ngọc Dương, Lê Quang Ðỉnh, Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, Nguyễn Quang Huy, Trần Lương, Nguyễn Trí Mạnh, Nguyễn Minh Phước, Nguyễn Quân, Veronika Radulovic, Brian Ring, Nguyễn Minh Thành, Vũ Thụy, Trương Tân and Le Vũ.
