Use of the archives by foreign researchers

Dep of Archives 10 (Tim Doling)There is as yet no government legislation covering the archives sector in Laos.
As such there is no means to ensure the integrity of records or to compel central and local agencies to deposit their records with the Department of Archives within specified periods of time.
The Department of Archives is very keen to benefit from overseas experience in drawing up a legal framework for archival work.
