There are currently seven licenced Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Laos - Champalao Internet, etllao.com, KPL Internet, Lanexang Internet Service (LIS) Co Ltd, Lao National Internet Committee (LANIC), laotel.com and Planet Online (POL).

LANIC is a government agency which provides services only to government organisations and academic institutes, while the remaining six ISPs are all operated as private enterprises. However, at the time of going to press neither Champalao Internet nor KPL Internet have commenced operations and only ETL, Lanexang, Laotel and Planet currently offer services to the general public.
