Originally established in 1990 with just a 10W transmitter, Luang Prabang Provincial Television Station relays programmes from LNTV in Vientiane on channel 6 via a 300W TQT transmitter donated in 2000 by Việt Nam. In addition it produces one hour of its own programming each day, comprising local news and light entertainment.
