untitled (37)The University of Oslo Cultural History Museum comprises: (i) the Archaeology, Art History and Numismatics Collection - Norwegian antiquities from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages including a treasure room with a collection called the Oldsaksamlingen consisting of precious findings of the Viking Age, medieval art, stave church portals and sculptures; (ii) the Coins and Medals Collection - The coin cabinet exhibits Norwegian coins and banknotes; (iii) the Ethnographic Collection - ethnographic collections include displays from around the Arctic Circle, Africa and the Americas; and (iv) the Viking Ship Museum at Bygdøy (at a different site, see below):
