citymoves is the Regional Dance Agency for the North East of Scotland. As part of Aberdeen City Council's cultural provision, it strives to provide opportunities for all sorts of people to engage with dance, as participants, performers and audiences.

It promotes a range of dance activities for people of all ages and abilities both within Aberdeen city centre studio and across the city. citymoves encourages participation in dance as a creative, social and physical activity which improves fitness and well-being. The dance studio houses a varied programme of community dance classes, workshops and performance groups as well as serving to raise the profile of dance and providing an information point. citymoves works in partnership with other agencies in the city to maximise opportunities for dance development.

citymoves is supported by the Scottish Arts Council to promote professional dance practice as part of a network of dance agencies in Scotland. Through a programme of choreographer retreats, residencies, professional development and artist/company support, we encourage the development of new choreography and artistic exploration.
