This regimental museum recounts the story of the Gordon Highlanders, spanning 200 years of world history and packed with tales of courage and tenacity in the field of battle. Its unique collection is supported by interactive displays, reconstructions and films.
The museum, which is a VisitScotland 5 star credited museum, houses an important collection of uniforms, badges, medals and regimental memorabilia illustrating the history of this famous Highland Regiment from the Napoleonic Wars through to recent operations in support of the United Nations. The exhibitions include interactive displays, sound stations, films, and models illustrating the deeds for which this regiment is renowned. The full regimental archive is kept on site and access is available by appointment with the curator. There is also a programme of educational and recreation events and activities for all ages.
Housed in the beautiful former home of Aberdeen artist Sir George Reid, the museum also has a popular tearoom, gift shop and tranquil Victorian walled gardens.
