The Local Studies Department is responsible for a wealth of information about Argyll and Bute. Each branch library holds a small Local Collection specific to its area, but the bulk of the material, including books, pamphlets, maps and postcards, is held at Library Headquarters in Dunoon.
Members of the public wishing to carry out research are welcome to visit Library Headquarters, but it is advisable to telephone in advance to ensure that staff are available.
