 East Renfrewshire offers a wide range of information services through its network of 10 community libraries; there is no mobile library service owing to the small size of the authority.
The Service is responsible for East Renfrewshire Archives, housed at Barrhead Community Library and Giffnock Community Library, which contain records, documents, pictures, old newspapers, multimedia CD-ROMS and Internet access, all of which may be of assistance to the local history and family history researcher or anyone with an interest in the history of East Renfrewshire.
The Service also runs the Portal to the Past, East Renfrewshire's heritage website.
