The role of Stirling Archives is acquire, preserve and make publicly available archives that relate to past and present life in the Stirling Council area.
Major collections currently held by Stirling Council Archives include: Local Government Records - Central Regional Council, Stirling County Council, Perth County Council, Royal Burgh of Stirling, Burgh of Bridge of Allan, Burgh of Callander, Burgh of Doune, Burgh of Dunblane; Church Records - Presbytery of Stirling (Including Presbytery & Diocesan Synod of Dunblane); Justice of the Peace Records - County of Clackmannan, County of Stirling; Records of the Board of Customs and Excise - Alloa Outport and District; Privately Deposited Records; Abridgements of Sasines; Microfilm Holdings - Old Parish Registers; Census Enumerators’ Returns; Newspapers; and Indexes.
Access to the archives is free of charge and everyone is welcome to use the service.
