Bank of Scotland NotesThe historical records of HBOS plc and its constituents (chiefly Bank of Scotland and Halifax plc) are maintained by HBOS Group Archives. These include an extensive range of records relating to the Bank of Scotland, dating back to its foundation in 1695 and including: Minutes (from 1695); Accounting records (including the first subscription ledger from 1695); Staff records; Branch records; Property records (including an extensive collection of architectural plans); Photographs; and Scottish banknotes (from 1716). The archive also contains historical records for a large number of constituent banks, including the British Linen Bank and the Union Bank of Scotland.
