Aberdeen City and Shire Film OfficeAberdeen City and Shire Film Office was set up in 2003 to assist filmmakers who wanted to locate in Aberdeen City and Shire. It deals with location enquiries and supports local filmmakers/students in their quest to find movie shooting locations,. It has a database of over 3,000 images of the area and is part of the larger UK locations network. It also assists filmmakers with finding accommodation, catering, cast, crew and transport among many other things. And the best thing about this service is that it's completely free!
Aberdeen City and Shire has many unique locations and famous movie locations, wherever you are in the area you are seldom more than 50 miles from an airport or a train station. We have some unique, picturesque coastline villages and towns such as Pennan, famous for the film Local Hero, Crovie, Fraserburgh, famous for the local film Born to Run and Peterhead, the biggest white fish port in Europe where many foreign films have been shot.
The film office is supported by Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeen City Council and Scottish Enterprise Grampian
