Macrobert-logoMacRobert is a well-established arts centre, located at the heart of the University of Stirling campus. Originally opened in 1971, the facilities are exceptional, having recently undergone a major £6.3 million refurbishment. MacRobert produces and presents a programme of film, theatre, dance, music and comedy, with particular emphasis on work with and for young people. Facilities include mainhouse - a refurbished middle scale theatre with seating for 466 people; filmhouse - a state of the art cinema; arthouse - a children's art gallery with projection facilities for animation and other film work produced by children; playhouse - Scotland’s first dedicated, professional children’s theatre; treehouse - a fully supervised crèche, involving children in arts activities, workhouse - a workshop and rehearsal space; wallace's den - a children's room; a café/bar with video projection and performance space for comedy and live music; and a dedicated babycare centre.

Sound: Allen & Heath ML4000 desk operated from control room at rear of auditorium, D&B, Crown amplifiers, D&B speakers, SM58, AKG mics, radio mics, CD and minidisc players, cassette desk, facilities for recording and editing
Film / video equipment: 35mm projectors, 4 x 2500 lumens video projector, flown cinema screen
Stage equipment: SM desk at prompt corner SL with cue lights, talkback, headsets, show relay and tannoy to dressing rooms; Steinway concert grand piano, 1 upright piano, 2 smoke machine, 2 dry ice machines, pyrotechnics, 25 stage weights, 8 masking flats
Backstage: 8 dressing rooms accommodating 34 persons total, green room, laundry, accessible by wheelchair; accessible toilet

Seating: 100 seats total, space for 10 wheelchairs, 20 standard seats lost through use
