Dundee Public Art Programme
Street address: Dundee Public Art Programme, 23 Springfield, Dundee DD1 4JE, Scotland, United Kingdom
The main public art programme in Dundee originally started in 1982 as the Blackness Public Arts Programme. It was founded to work with the `Action Blackness' project which was established by the local authorities to regenerate the rundown industrial area of Blackness within Dundee. The programme had established a good working relationship with the local authorities by the time the work of `Action Blackness' was finished in 1985. The programme continued to work throughout Dundee and became the Dundee Public Art Programme (DPAP). Since then DPAP has gained a national reputation in assisting in the commissioning of some 70 or more public artworks in Dundee.
