Rootin' Aboot is a broad-based roots and traditional festival based at The Lemon Tree venue in Aberdeen. Programme includes free lunchtime performances, workshops, family evening concerts and a weekend club.
The festival began in 1993 and is funded by Aberdeen City Council and Scottish Arts Council and concentrates on Celtic, traditional, singer-songwriter, world music, acoustic music. Previous artists include Bert Jansch, Radio Tarifa, Varttina, Lo’Jo, Capercaillie, Nils Lofgren, Sam Brown, Kanda Bongo Man, Martin Hayes, Peatbog Faeries, Vasen, Salsa Celtica etc.
