The Association of Poets and Writers of Afghanistan supports the rights and activities of writers and prints the magazine Bayab e Ghallam. It has representative offices in Herat, Balkh (Mazar e Sharif), Samangan, Baghlan and Nangarhar (Jalalabad), which are administered and budgeted for in Kabul. The Association supports the Youth Poets Association (Ghulam Nabi Erfanee) and the Folklore Story Writers. Anyone can join and courses for young writers are free.
