Known as Baba Shah, Father of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Durrani (1722-1772) founded an empire which later became the kingdom of Afghanistan. Located next to Kirqa Sharif Mosque, the mausoleum was a very ornately decorated building featuring lapis lazuli, marble and gold.
