Founded in May 1980, AFRANE was formed to collect and disperse humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. From 1980 to June 1986 AFRANE accomplished 26 aid missions in 13 provinces with funds of 3 million Francs. AFRANE has worked with the people of Herat, Baghlan and Kunduz to increase their knowledge and ability to reconstruct their lives. Since the fall of the Taliban AFRANE has worked to reconstruct the education system in Afghanistan.
