Established in January 1959, the Museum of the Vietnamese Revolution is housed in an elegant two-storey building formerly used by the Trade Department. It has been renovated and redesigned into 30 exhibition rooms which contain more than 80,000 historical artefacts. The first room presents Việt Nam and the Vietnamese. The exhibition continues with exhibits on the national liberation movements of Việt Nam against the French before the establishment of the Communist Party (1858-1930); the struggle for independence under the leadership of the Communist Party (1930-1975); and the construction and defence of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam (1976-1994).
