VASCVASC Software and Media Company is a state-owned enterprise under the Việt Nam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT). VASC's weekly online newspaper Vietnamnet attracts over 300 million hits every month. VASC also publishes the E-chip IT and Telecommunication Weekly Newspaper, which has a circulation of around 45,000 copies per week. Through Vietnamnet, VASC provides its customers with diversified products such as multimedia entertainment channels (online television, bonus games, online exchanges, music and more), the Vietnamese law database Vietlaw, the Việt Nam import/export information forum Eximpro, and the university entrance preparation channel Trường Thi among others. As a leading provider of IT solutions in Vietnam, VASC applies the world’s most advanced technology to create products and services with technologically high content. Its mobile trade system VASC M-Commerce, the online payment system VASC Payment and the digital certificate grant and management system VASC CA are all pioneer products in the Vietnamese IT market. VASC also provides high-quality Internet transmission lines and a host of related applications. Many industrial zones, export processing zones, office buildings and large hotels have become longstanding clients. The year 2002 saw the VASC’s greatest success. The VASC – ICP Soft support software for VASC Orient (now Vietnamnet) online information system received the gold medal in the field of ‘Applying IT in Communications and Entertainment’ at the Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology 2002 (APICTA 2002) contest in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In Việt Nam, Vietnamnet was also awarded the ‘Most Favoured Website in Việt Nam 2002’ prize selected by readers of the most prestigious IT magazine in Việt Nam, PC World, and the Gold Cup for the most excellent electronic newspaper and website of the Việt Nam Information Technology Association.
