Who uses them?
Visiting Arts’ Cultural Profiles are targeted mainly at cultural professionals, producers, curators and researchers, but our research shows that they are also used by academic staff and students, government employees, media professionals, business people and cultural tourists.
An online user survey conducted in January-April 2006 showed that:
● 32% of those accessing the Cultural Profiles are based in the UK, 24% in mainland Europe, 22% in North America and 13% in Asia Pacific
● 37% of our visitors are in the 25-34 age group, 28% in the 35-50 age group, 18% in the 16-24 age group, 16% in the over 50 age group and 1% in the under 16 age group
● Arts and culture practitioners (30%) and university and continuing education students (22%) form the two largest visitor groups, while academic staff come third (16%), government employees fourth (8%), media professionals fifth (6%) and business people sixth (5%)
● Around 20% of our visitors see themselves as cultural tourists
