the chance to create a complete national cultural portal within just 12 months, at a fraction of the cost of many current web-based cultural initiatives
from the Scotland Cultural Profile
The Cultural Profiles project offers country partners the opportunity to create a complete national cultural portal for their country within just 12 months, at a fraction of the cost of many current web-based cultural initiatives.
This is made possible through
a proven methodology for cultural mapping which makes it possible to document in detail a wide range of cultural sectors in within a very short time;
the state-of-the-art Librios Content Management System (CMS)©, which was developed specifically for the creation of national cultural portals; and
the unique Visiting Arts Global Classification Schema© which covers every cultural sector, facilitating information retrieval within a large database of cultural contacts, and allowing authoritative research and comparative studies to take place internationally across various cultural sectors - use of this comes free with the software.
Creating a national cultural portal from scratch can be an expensive and labour-intensive undertaking for any national government.
A partnership with Visiting Arts offers a less daunting yet high quality alternative, involving tried-and-tested research methodology and ready-to-use software.
In this context we are currently rebranding the Cultural Profiles to give a higher profile to our country partners and reflect more prominently their ownership of the project.
