The Kongsberg Jazz festival is one of Norway’s major festivals. The programme for 1999 may be seen in full on the festival website and includes a range of leading Norwegian jazz artists. The main venues of the festival are the Kongsberghallen, the Smeltehytta, Kongens Gruve and the venerable Kongsberg Church, whilst the blues are allocated a special ‘Blues Tent’ and each year both the Quality Grand Hotel and the Best Western Gyldenløve are packed with music lovers.
