In 1999 the Peer Gynt festival at Vinstra celebrated its 10th anniversary as host for perhaps the most famous Ibsen play, Peer Gynt, with music by Edvard Grieg. The play is the core of the festival and is staged every year at the outdoor arena Gålå, with leading Norwegian artists in the cast. Another highlight of the festival is the Rondane outdoor concert.
