Bergen arkitekt skole is a private college supported by the state. It provides an alternative to mainstream architect education in Norway, being more focused on the art aspects of architecture and strongly influenced by architecture typical of the west coast of Norway. It offers a three-year undergraduate programmes with the option of a further two years postgraduate training.
