Nils Aas Art Workshop is a small museum dedicated to well-known sculptor Nils Aas who grew up in the region of Inderøy. Situated in the small village of Straumen, surrounded by lovely countryside of Nord-Trøndelag, the building is designed by Nils Aas. The museum is organised as a 3D autobiography, with sketches, drawings, models, plaster originals to many of the sculptor’s main works and sculptures in bronze, wood, steel and paper. The most remarkable piece is a huge circular monument made in birch wood, situated in the centre of the museum. Many of the sculptor’s busts of famous Norwegians are also on permanent display. It is also a gallery for temporary exhibitions with the aim to promote outstanding contemporary Norwegian artists.
