Guldara 3 (Ana Rodriguez)The Faculty of Archaeology incorporates four areas of study: Archaeology, Philosophy, History and the History of Afghanistan. The Faculty needs teaching materials, especially on pre-history, in order to prepare lectures. It owns a computer, donated by the Germans, but also needs Internet access in order to keep up to date with other schools. However there is still a shortage of human resources and a great need for professional development and contact with other professors in all fields to discover how they are using the progresses in technology. Two teachers and one group of students assisted archaeologists from Germany on a dig in Babur’s Garden. They hope that this type of training exercise will continue in the future. Professor Osmani said,’ Afghanistan is the museum of the world. In every step we can find history where east and west came together.’ Their needs include excavating tools, shovels, brushes and supplies for travelling to sites.
