Located amongst a group of houses some 2 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Tam Kỳ and accessed via a dirt track leading off the Tam Kỳ bypass road, the Khương Mỹ group of towers comprises three eastward-facing kalan, constructed in the early 10th century and categorised architecturally as being of transitional design with elements of both Đồng Dương and Mỹ Sơn A1 styles. The towers are of significant size with square bases; despite being in relatively poor condition, they still display decorative elements of great beauty, revealing the Chăm talent for sculpting in sandstone. Numerous important sculptural works have been recovered from the site and classified as representing the eponymous Khương Mỹ style; these are currently on display at the Chăm Sculpture Museum in Đà Nẵng.
