 This national association is dedicated to the development of the art of cinematography in Việt Nam and the welfare of artists and technicians working in the cinema industry. The Association publishes the fortnightly Thế giới Điện ảnh (World Cinema) Magazine and has its own small film studio, Hãng phim Hội Điện ảnh Việt Nam. The Association also runs a small but well-equipped cinema auditorium which hosts the activities of its Cinema Club and organises the biannual Golden and Silver Kite Prizes, Việt Nam's equivalent of the Oscars.
