The Bắc Ninh Provincial branch of the Việt Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations finds its origins in the Hà Bắc Provincial Literature and Arts Association, established in 1983. It became a separate association when Hà Bắc Province was split into the two separate provinces of Bắc Ninh and Bắc Giang in 1987. This Association currently has around 75 members and publishes the monthly Kinh bắc Magazine.
