The Gia Lai Provincial branch of the Việt Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations was established in 1996 following the division of former Gia Lai-Kon Tum Province into the two separate provinces of Gia Lai and Kon Tum. This Association currently has around 70 members and publishes the bimonthly Văn nghệ Gia Lai (Gia Lai Literature) Magazine.
