The only Chăm temple-tower located in the Central Highland (Tây Nguyên) region, the nine metre-high Yang Prong Tower is located amidst rain forest in a remote district of Đắc Lắc Province, close to the border with Cambodia. Believed to have been built in the 14th century, it comprises a rather basic square tower with a square, layered roof. A linga-yoni is to be found inside the structure, indicating its original function as a centre for the worship of Shiva.
