More than 85 per cent of the population belong to the state church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway. Other Christian communities active in Norway include Baptists, Pentecostalists, Methodists and Roman Catholics. However, only 3 per cent of the total population attend regular church services on Sundays. The largest non-Christian religion in Norway is Islam.
