Glasgow Independent Studio and Glasgow Project Room is a non-profit making charity based in the city centre location of Trongate, Glasgow. The organisation comprises of a large studio complex and contemporary art exhibition and project space.The studio was established in 1995, to support and educate in the visual arts through provision of working spaces for artists in Glasgow. The project space began in 1997 to promote the artist's work, and now developing awareness of the visual arts on a larger scale with continuing innovative and challenging exhibitions.The complex is on the top floor of a tenement-style factory building, looking to the south and east side of Glasgow. Located in close proximity to contemporary visual art spaces such as Transmission Gallery, intermedia, Free, Street Level Photoworks, WASPSand Glasgow Print Studio, the Glasgow Independent Studio and Project Room is an established venue in the Glasgow's artscene.
