The Blend focuses on the performance traditions of Scotland and further afield. The festival embraces an international dimension and includes workshops, free music sessions and masterclasses. It takes place over one weekend during March.
The first festival took place in March 2003 and the second in March 2004 with the Hungarian band, Muzsikas, headlining. A focus of the festival is education, workshops and masterclasses so an understanding of different traditions is communicated.
