Le Weekend is an experimental music festival taking in electronica, improvised and left field jazz, avant rock & more.
The festival started in 1998 as Scotland’s first experimental music festival, since then it has grown to become an international festival of international repute. Residency programmes, workshops & masterclasses are a firm fixture of the festival programme. To date, performers have included Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, Otomo Yoshihide, Peter Brotzman, Fushitsusha, Ernst Reijseger, Pelt, Damon & Naomi, William Parker, David S Ware and lots more. Their programming policy is to include international experimental music, usually that has not been aired in Scotland or the UK before.
