 Originally established in 1976 as the School of Professional Theory II (Trường Lý luận Nghiệp vụ II), this college became the Hồ Chí Minh City School of Culture (Trường Văn hóa Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh) in 1981 and the Hồ Chí Minh City College of Culture in 1995. It offers full-time College Diploma programmes in Library and Information Studies, Conservation and Museum Studies, Cultural Tourism Studies, Book Distribution and Publishing Industry Studies and Mass Culture Studies, plus a range of in-service training courses in culture and information management. Its syllabus is designed to permit gifted students to continue their studies as undergraduates at the Hà Nội University of Culture.
