 This national association was established in 1955 to encourage and assist the development of Vietnamese music and the promotion of the status and rights of Vietnamese musicians through international musical exchange. It currently has over 800 members, organises the annual Việt Nam Musicians' Association Awards and publishes the monthly Âm nhạc (Music) Magazine. A member of the Asian Composers' League (ACL), the Association will host the 25th Asian Music Festival in 2005.
